Visiting this website would likely mean that you are a fashion follower, just like me. I am sure we have much more in common in addition to fashion. Well then it’s nice to meet you! I guess you already know that my name is Kira Plastinina and I am a fashion designer, though I am only (or already) 18… Indeed, many are interested in my age as my relationship with fashion started when I turned 14 and the first shop of Kira Plastinina brand (Style Studio) opened in Moscow. So, this is the story, to some extent. Though it all started much earlier for me…I have been drawing a lot since childhood. Drawing has always been my most favorite hobby. I drew pictures for my dreams and designed fairy images. My heroines were mostly beautiful princesses wearing beautiful gowns. And every gown was unique. I collected entire albums with sketches of these dresses and then transferred them onto fabrics and started sewing. My dolls had fabulous and constantly renewing wardrobe. When I was asked who I would want to be when I grow up I answered that I would want to create beautiful clothes. I did not know at that time that there was a grown-up word for it – a fashion designer…
When I grew up I realized that every outfit I created was exactly what I would want to wear myself. Actually today 99% of what I wear is from my brand, since I only design styles that I personally like. Well, so it happened that my father noticed my passion for fashion and took it all very seriously and I am extremely grateful to him for this. And it was when I just turned 14. But my father believed in me. And he offered this brave project of designing my first real fashion line and selling it in stores. And we succeeded. Though I redid almost all styles a week before the first fashion show, but the feedback was very positive.
My first Style Studio opened in Moscow in 2007. And today there are already over 120, not only in Russia, but in the U.S., the Philippines, China, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Ukraine. My apparel is also available in Italy and the UK. I am very happy that there are customers of Kira Plastinina brand from various countries of the globe. Over these four years I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and experience in every step of fashion design – from sketch to production. I am aware of every minute detail of my favorite work, because I am responsible to myself and everyone who believes in me for the eventual embodiment of my ideas and apparel that will be presented to customers in my Style Studios. I think that sincerity is the most important principle in designer’s work. You should never betray yourself or make compromises in your creativity. I truly believe that everything coming from your heart will ultimately find a response in other hearts. This is why when creating style of Kira Plastinina brand and designing every outfit I do it as if just for myself and I am very pleased and honored that you share my vision of fashion.
